About the Job

You will be working on a prestigious education site in South Yarra supporting the Head Chef in the smooth running of the operations on site.  With a focus on high quality function and event food preparation, including menu design, planning and costings.  You may also be involved in cooking a range of food across boarding house meals and daily food offerings in the onsite canteens (sandwiches, salads etc).  We seek great variety requiring a talented cook!  Your talent will gain you the opportunity to learn and develop, in addition to enjoying working in a cohesive, high performing team.  The role will be offered on a casual basis, with the requirement to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 6.00 am to 1.30 pm shifts.  Opportunity to obtain more hours based on operational requirements.

About You

You may be a newly qualified Chef or experienced Chef who is full of energy and passionate about food, you will have the ability to display innovation, creativity and of course have great ability to cook.  Your studies will have provided you a high understanding of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness.  You will ideally have experience in a fast paced environment with bulk cooking experience while working as part of a team.

You will have Cert III in Hospitality and already hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children check, in addition to completing the on boarding process for Sodexo which includes a medical, police clearance and on line learning.  Furthermore given your experience in a similar role you MUST hold a Food Safety Supervisor certificate/Food Handling Certificate.
