Job Description

Sodexo are seeking a suitably qualified Electrician to join our team working at one of client’s site in the Surat Basin.

About the Job

This is a local hire full time role rostered Monday to Friday 10 hours per day. Due to the roster and site location this role will require the suitable candidate to live locally to Miles or Chinchilla and surrounding area or be relocating to the region.

Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, the Electrician is expected to work as part of team to perform preventative and reactive maintenance and ensure all equipment is operational to contribute to the smooth overall running of the village.

Your main responsibilities are maintenance and inspections as per an agreed schedule, troubleshoot specialised equipment and machinery, and diagnose malfunctioning systems/components. This role may also include but is not limited to selections, installation, set up and testing, fault finding and general repair of equipment in buildings and surrounding premises.  It is also a requirement to perform pre-start up checks on equipment, update the maintenance register and ensure inventory levels are sustained.

From time to time you may be required to travel to another local client site to assist the team on various tasks/projects within your scope.

About You

It is essential that you are a qualified Electrician with a current unrestricted QLD Electrical Licences and current LVR /CPR. You will need to have solid hands on experience across reactive and preventative maintenance and in diagnosing, repairing, and installation of commercial, domestic and industrial systems. You will display a solid understanding of electrical industry standards which govern your trade and a strong mechanical aptitude. Previous remote site experience is highly regarded.

Your positive attitude and well-versed communication skills will enable you to build and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure prompt and professional service while dealing with all stakeholders. You will display a strong team focus with excellent customer service, ensuring presentation and service is carried out to the client standards. The position will suit a well organised and self-motivated individual who is passionate about adhering to high safety standards.
