About the job:

We are currently seeking an experienced Full Time - Qualified Chef for a Drive in, Drive out role ex Mackay and surrounding areas. The successful Chef will be rostered to work 14 days on, 7 days off roster – 11 hours per day completing one week at Dysart and one week at Byerwen Village. Working Breakfast shifts, this role would be suited to a team player who has previously worked a similar roster pattern.

Our Chef’s along with the extended service team are the 'backbone' of our remote sites. They contribute extensively to the effective day to day operations and provide a service for customers ensuring that each experience is as close to a home away from home feeling.

Your role will include but is not limited to hands-on service for bulk and or buffet style cooking for breakfast, pastries, crib and on occasions organising functions. A solid knowledge and understanding of HACCP procedures and safe work practices is imperative.  

About You:

To be successful in this role you must have a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent and ideally have experience within a mining or remote environment such as resorts or cruise ships. It is essential you have a valid driver licences and a reliable car to get to and from site. You will need to have stamina, exceptional customer service skills, be fit and healthy and have a passion for cooking quality meals for our clients and fellow staff members. Cleanliness and professional presentation is extremely vital at all times along with the ability to work effectively in teams and have a keen eye for detail is essential.
