Sodexo are looking for an experienced Psychologist to contribute to the safe, secure and efficient operation of the new women’s Melaleuca Remand and Reintegration Facility based in Canning Vale, Perth.

About the Role:

The Psychologist is instrumental in the shaping the way our prisoners learn and improve their skills. You will deliver therapeutic interventions, challenge offending behaviours, whilst promoting and supporting positive behaviour change and pro-social choices to benefit themselves, the prison and the wider community.

This role plays a key part in assessing risks and provides psychological support to those at risk of self-harm and/or suicide. The role also includes the delivery of staff training, demonstrating pro-social modelling with staff and prisoner learners at all times and conducting research as directed.

About You:

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you hold full registration with AHPRA. You will have extensive experience and demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the provision of psychological services and interventions, especially working with those with high needs, including complex mental health. Ideally, you will have gained this experience working within a correctional, welfare or other institutional setting.

You are someone that is organised, self-motivated and driven who is open and adaptive to innovation and change. Being able to set and achieve professional goals will contribute to your success in this role.
