Socotec Advisory, LLC provides litigation support, forensic consulting, expert witness testimony, and project management and advisory services.  Our consultants analyze the causes of construction and business disputes and evaluate the associated economic impacts.  We also assist clients with the on-going management of large, complex construction and manufacturing projects.

Job Description

Socotec Advisory offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with an emphasis on teamwork, flexibility and continued professional growth.  Working within project teams, Analysts are responsible for performing the day-to-day activities on Socotec Advisory  projects and work on a variety of assignments across a broad range of industries and practice areas, primarily related to litigation, arbitration, mediation, or settlement negotiations.  Specific analyses may include the analysis of project schedule delays, calculation of lost profits and economic damages, as well as business valuations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Prepare detailed analysis of project schedule delays, cost overruns, and change orders.

·         Review of project records including contracts, drawings, daily reports, inspection reports and correspondence to support entitlement arguments

·         Review, organize, and analyze case documentation, testimony, and court filing

·         Perform various financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence.

·         Apply accounting and analytical skills to various situations depending on the specific engagement.  Examples include fund tracing, review of financial statements, and analysis of books and records.

·         Analyze estimate/budgeted financial information and compare to actual costs incurred to evaluate project financial performances.

·         Research and analyze general economic conditions, market data, and industry specific conditions and trends.

·         Assist with written reports and graphical exhibits.

·         Document management.

·         Perform quality control and demonstrate documentation of work product.

·         Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Socotec Advisory is seeking qualified individuals with a college degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.  1 to 5 years of work experience desired.  Knowledge of the construction industry is preferred but not required.     

Preferred Skills

·       Strong quantitative, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

·       Creative problem-solving ability.

·       Strong communication and organizational skills.

·       Ability to balance multiple priorities.

·       Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel, and PowerPoint.

·       Experience with Primavera scheduling tools is a plus, but not required.

·       Detail oriented.

·       Must be willing to travel and work overtime as needed.
