Job Description

SOCOTEC is looking for a proposal writer and marketing assistant to join the Marketing Team to assist in writing and preparing proposals and qualification-based proposal submissions. This includes gathering information, preparing deliverable schedules, assisting with fee estimates, working with sub-consultant teams, formatting documents according to the company’s policy, and obtaining approval before sending the proposal to the appropriate sources. This position will be responsible for several tasks to support the marketing needs of the firm. Candidate will report directly to the Marketing Director.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Meet deadlines by being capable of prioritizing responsibilities and balancing workload
  • Prepare, edit, and revise proposals according to feedback and notes given by technical staff and fellow proposal writers
  • Use company templates for proposals in order to maintain consistency within the department
  • Conduct research, gather information, and attend meetings that may be needed for a specific proposal
  • Create graphics and visuals for proposal submissions and/or pitch presentations
  • Understand how to read and interpret a Request for Proposal (RFP)
  • Ensure that proposals & materials maintain a consistent tone and voice
  • Provide timely follow-up on submitted proposals
  • Regularly update the Firm’s Marketing materials
  • Prepare & post on the Firm’s social media platforms marketing content to highlight relevant work experience (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook)
  • Provide updates for posting to the Firm’s website
  • Edit and manage proposal information in Firm’s Customer Relationship Manager (CRM)
  • Work as part of a team to offer suggestions for improvements or ways to streamline the process

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree with focus in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field

· Proficient in all Microsoft and Adobe Programs

· 2-3 years experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction industry

· Track record of writing successful proposals in a relevant field may be advantageous

· Outstanding research, organization, written communication, proofreading skills, and extremely detailed oriented

· Be able to work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines

· Be able to work on and help manage multiple proposals at a time

· Great verbal communication and public speaking skills

· Strategic planning knowledge and abilities'
