Job Description

If you are looking for an opportunity to grow with a successful small business, and an opportunity to make a difference and influence changes at all levels, an exciting full-time position is available in our Mesa, AZ office for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper and Office Manager. You will work directly with our management team and be responsible for full-cycle accounting, assisting with office-related operations, and fulfilling some human resource needs. This position requires an ability to juggle several organizational tasks at once.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing all aspects of general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  • Processing all weekly payments and deposits
  • Handling payroll information and coordinating payroll processing through our outsourced payroll company
  • Balancing and managing credit card statements and cash flow across the company
  • Coordinating with Socious’s outside accounting firm for payroll tax filings, annual tax preparation, and audits. Note that this position will be responsible only for the coordination of tax-related items
  • Performing bank reconciliations and preparing financial statements
  • Supporting management in the administration of benefits for all employees
  • Assisting in the procurement of office-related supplies, furniture, equipment, and office space
  • Providing additional support and reporting as needed
  • Potentially working directly with Socious clients to assist with bookkeeping needs
  • Potentially assisting in the development of office policies and procedures for human resources
  • This position will report directly to Socious’s executive team

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Associate’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping/accounting
  • Must have thorough understanding of QuickBooks Software
  • Must have previous experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Must have previous experience with General Ledgers
  • Must have excellent skills with Word and Excel
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must possess a flexible nature and be able to juggle multiple tasks at once
  • Well-organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy

Additional Information

Benefits:

  • Socious covers the full cost of an employee's health and dental insurance.  Additional dependents and family coverage optional and at cost to employee.
  • Employees are eligible to participate in our 401k plan immediately.  Socious will match contributions at a rate of 100% of the first 3% of salary and 50% of the next 2% of salary.  All matching is vested immediately.
  • Employees accrue 8 hours of time off per month (12 days per year).  This time may be used for either sick days or vacation.  At any time an employee may borrow up to 40 hours of future accruable paid time off.  Socious observes 7 paid holidays each year (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, and Christmas Day).
