Job Description
The Finance Business Partner will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-growing, mission-driven organisation, supporting the Head of Finance & Operations to deliver strong financial stewardship in a complex environment. You will play a key role in enhancing financial management and ensuring transparency and efficiency across the organisation.
- This is a hands-on and strategic role, balancing bookkeeping accuracy with financial analysis, strengthening internal controls, and supporting compliance in a highly regulated industry.
- Reporting to the Head of Finance and Operations, the Finance Business Partner is part of the FinOps team that ensures financial integrity, efficient logistics, and smooth office management to support sustainable business growth.
- The role will be based in Sydney Macquarie Park (Office-Hybrid).
Essential Responsibilities
Financial management & Accounting
- Oversee month-end closure, reconciliations, and statutory reporting in collaboration with external accounting firm.
- Ensure compliance with local IFRS, and corporate policies.
- Oversee accounts payable, and expense processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors for indirect tax, corporate tax, and transfer pricing compliance.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance frameworks.
- Support year-end audit process and external auditor liaison.
Business Partnering & FP&A
- Act as a trusted business partner, explaining financial outcomes to non-finance stakeholders.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Deliver timely management reporting, variance analysis, and performance tracking.
- Help improve processes and controls to support growth and transparency.
Qualifications
- CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge.
- 5+ years’ experience in finance roles, including financial management and reporting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Experience working with external accounting/advisory firms.
- Comfortable partnering with senior leaders in a fast-paced, lean, and young environment.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and other relevant analytical software.
- Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of IFS is advantageous
