Job Description
About the role
Business Unit Director (BUD) to lead the launch and growth of our new cross-functional business unit focused on C3G (C3 Glomerulopathy) and PNH (Paroxysmal Nocturnal Haemoglobinuria).
This is a unique opportunity to build something from the ground up — shaping strategy, leading a high-performing team, and partnering across markets to bring innovative therapies to patients in need.
As Business Unit Director, you will sit on the Norbalt Leadership Team, with full P&L accountability and responsibility for building, leading, and developing the cross-functional unit across sales, marketing, medical, and patient access.
This position will preferably be based in the greater Stockholm area, reporting directly to the VP Nordic &Baltics.
Your impact will include
- Lead the strategic development and operational execution of C3G and PNH business plans in alignment with global and European strategy.
- Build and nurture strong networks with nephrology and haematology experts, patient organisations, and key market access stakeholders.
- Drive launch readiness and excellence, translating strategy into measurable performance and sustainable growth.
- Ensure collaboration across Medical, Patient Access, and Patient Engagement teams to present one unified Sobi voice to all stakeholders.
- Recruit, inspire, and develop a high-calibre commercial team, fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability, and purpose.
- Partner with global and local teams to ensure optimal access and reimbursement for patients in high unmet-need areas

Sobi Culture
At Sobi, we refuse to accept the status quo. This is because we have witnessed first-hand the challenges facing those affected by rare diseases and have used this knowledge to shape our business to find new ways of helping them.
As a specialized biopharmaceutical company, we are dedicated to rare diseases. And we see this focus as a strength. By effectively turning our research into ground-breaking treatments, we help make medicine more accessible and open up more possibilities for patients and more opportunities for those caring for them. This has been our approach since day one, but we know we can’t change the world of rare diseases on our own. Accomplishing this requires strong partnerships with patients, partners and stakeholders across the entire value chain. Together, we define how our business can create solutions that serve the needs of those affected by rare diseases while facilitating sustainable growth.
