Job Description

Snow’s product delivery is undergoing a transformation from a traditional on-prem delivery to a SaaS / cloud delivery model. As our new Database Developer, you will work with maintaining the existing on-prem products, migrate parts to the cloud platform and design, implement and deploy newly developed services, on a cloud microservices architecture.  

This is an excellent opportunity presents itself for an experienced Database developer to join an engineering team to work on a variety of application development projects. The individual will work closely with technical leads and developers to assist in both logical and physical database design along with database & SQL performance tuning and optimization. 

Some responsibilities include:

  • Design databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability 

  • Contribute to creating and enforcing database development standards and ensure cross-team coordination  

  • Create and update database code for on Cloud and On-Prem Environments 

  • Support colleagues having questions around database best practices, query optimizations, work arounds and troubleshooting 


To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Strong background in Microsoft SQL Server database Programming 

  • Experience with performance optimization, tuning, evaluation, measuring, index maintenance. Identifying, prioritizing and fixing performance bottlenecks 

  • Experience working with C# / .NET and the ability to merge updated database code to an existing codebase and deploy it, upholding quality requirements 

  • Experience working with NoSQL databases 

Even better if you have:

  • Experience working with MongoDB (we use it!) 

  • Experience in modern ways of working in a cloud environment (We use Azure)  

  • Experience working in a microservices environment - build, deploy, monitor 

  • Experience working with sensitive data, under compliance regulations
