The role of the Senior Web Developer is to plan, manage and execute web development on our WordPress website, working closely with our agency partners. The successful candidate will join our digital marketing team and will make a significant contribution to our long-term digital transformation project, building world-class digital properties for Snow Software.  

To be successful in this role, you must have extensive experience developing, maintaining, and managing large corporate WordPress websites in an in-house or agency capacity. The role sits within the marketing team, and you must have a good understanding of how a corporate website can support the go-to-market objectives of a B2B technology/SaaS business.  

Who you are 

• A WordPress developer who can use their development expertise to deliver solutions that support marketing initiatives. 

• You have experience of working in a team as a developer delivering WordPress projects. 

• You are comfortable working in Sprints, taking part in code reviews and can estimate development effort.  

• You have excellent stakeholder management skills. Your ability to gather, evaluate and prioritize requirements will be vital.  

• A forward thinker who can pragmatically solve the challenges of today but has an eye on market trends and where we need to go in the future.  

• Comfortable working in a fast-moving and dynamic environment where you will need to be resourceful, multitask and take on new challenges every day.  

• A confident communicator who can support global stakeholders.   

Must have experience  

• 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience 

• Solid understanding of WordPress and PHP Development best practices 

• Experience working alongside partner agencies. 

• Delivering cross browser, cross device solutions.  

• Ability to evaluate market trends and make pragmatic recommendations.  

• Ability to proactively contribute to a development roadmap.  

• Strong understanding of cyber security.  

• Experience of working in a collaborative web development team. 

• Technical SEO best practices in development and site management. 

• Full understanding of responsive mobile first development and testing, including breakpoints, and mobile accessibility. 

Must have technical expertise 

• Intermediate or expert skills in PHP, JavaScript, React.js, WordPress, HTML, CSS and Git. 

• Experience building custom blocks in the Gutenberg block editor. 

• Ability to setup a local environment and expertly debug performance and caching issues across environments. 

• Leverage WordPress APIs and extend the WordPress admin experience. 

• Experience and expertise with third-party integrations and client-side APIs 

• Experience with using version control systems

Nice to Have 

• Experience working on B2B technology/SaaS websites.

• Experience of GDPR and implementing cookie compliance solutions  

• Experience with Google Tag Manager
