Role purpose 

The role of Senior Web Developer is a vital position with technical responsibility for our websites. The role will interface with agencies and internal stakeholders. This is a hands-on position where you will be working end-to-end, planning, building, testing and deploying solutions. 

Key accountabilities and decision ownership 

• Plan, manage and execute web development on our WordPress website. 

• Support the evaluation and prioritization of requirements that form the website roadmap for Snow. 

• Support the relationship between Snow and external web development agencies. 

• Responsible for the overall technical infrastructure, hosting and cybersecurity. 

• Accountable for managing our compliance with data protection frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA. 

• Accountable for technical website KPIs and alignment to business goals and priorities. 

• Ownership of agile website delivery and optimizing development sprint velocity. 

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience 

• A WordPress developer who can use their development expertise to deliver solutions that support marketing initiatives. 

• Experience of presenting to business stakeholders and leadership.  

• Experience managing agencies, including providing governance and best practice expectations. 

• Experience working on B2B technology/SaaS websites 

• Building WordPress Templates, Themes, functionality & Plugins (with a supporting portfolio of work) 

• Experience of working in a collaborative web development team. 

• Full understanding of responsive mobile first development and testing, including breakpoints, and mobile accessibility. 

• Experience managing and maintaining enterprise level web hosting environments. 

• Deep knowledge of WordPress, including taxonomies, post types, WordPress APIs, etc 

• Strong knowledge of current web development languages (including HTML5, CSS3, PHP/MySQL) 

• Experience using CSS pre-processors like Sass, Less or Stylus. 

• Experience of taking part in code reviews. 

• Experience of vetting WordPress plugins.  

• Technical SEO best practices in development and site management. 

Must have technical/professional qualifications: 

• 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience 

• BA/BS degree in computer science (or equivalent experience) 

• Portfolio of work delivered for business/enterprise in a professional capacity
