Snow's Finance team has an exciting new opening! To grow our finance capabilities to manage Snow’s rapid growth we are hiring for this new position in Solna, Sweden.

The EMEA Regional Controller is fully responsible for Financial Accounting, Reporting and Compliance across the Group’s EMEA operations.   Strong Controller capabilities are essential to ensure we comply with both US GAAP and IFRS accounting requirements, SOX internal controls, and other regulatory and tax requirements across our 15 EMEA legal entities.  

The EMEA Controller will report to the Group Corporate Controller and collobarate closely with both Snow Finance and the Snow Business operations to ensure financial compliance, SOX internal control compliance, timely completion of group and local statutory audits, management of outsouced service providers and tax and financial regulatory relationships.   The EMEA accounting team located in our Solna Finance Shared Service Center report to the EMEA Controller.

Meeting the company’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and compliance requirements and deadlines is a critical part of the role. To achieve this, the day-to-day activities include coaching and supporting the broader finance team, including Solna-based direct reports, review of work performed by direct reports and other stakeholders, and also responsible for preparation of financial analysis in more complex areas.

The Regional Controller is the company’s European accounting SME, a go-to-person for the full Finance team and a key partner to the broader Snow organization.

Alongside these daily responsibilities, the Regional Controller is an important driver and contributor in ad-hoc projects to develop the Finance team and its processes as the Snow organisation continues its rapid expansion.

Critical to succeeding in this role is the ability to work independently, to take full ownership of allocated areas of responsibility and to critically identify, evaluate and address financial and operational risks. Additionally, the ability to provide detailed and business-savvy feedback to various levels of management, and the ability to be a part of a dynamic and energetic team within a fast-paced organization will enable success in this role.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Accountable for Regional Financial Reporting obligations for the EMEA region. Including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Accountable for Regional Financial Compliance activities, both recurring (e.g. SOX internal control compliance, Group and Local Audits, VAT, Corporate Tax etc.) and any ad-hoc requirements.
  • People leader for the Solna based EMEA Accounting & Reporting team. Responsible for coaching and mentoring the team and the teams’ professional development.
  • Coordinating with other Finance teams (e.g. Treasury, AP, AR, Payroll etc.) to ensure alignment on priorities and day-to-day Finance activities
  • Guiding direct reports and other internal stakeholders through the monthly close process
  • Assisting in Technical Accounting matters as needed to support the organization
  • Drive and support accounting standard implementations and prepare/review technical accounting position papers.
  • Have a proactive role in process implementation and optimisation projects.
  • Manage relationships with numerous stakeholders across the Snow organization

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelors' degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Fully qualified accountant (CPA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with relevant post-qualification experience
  • Significant experience in Financial Controllership, financial audit and management accounting.  Good knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS and of SOX internal control requirements for public companies
  • Experience managing relationships with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally to the organization
  • Self-starter and self-motivated individual would can both manage your own work and delegate to the Accounting & Reporting team
  • Strong interpersonal skills, polished business acumen and the ability to be viewed at the Leader of our European finance organization. Proven experience leading a finance team.
  • Comfortable in a complex and fast-moving, fast paced global environment
  • Dynamic problem-solving abilities and an ability to work autonomously
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and critical thinking skills are essential
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
  • Experience with enterprise accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Sage Intacct, Navision) and strong fluency in Microsoft Office applications
