Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Consultant to join our Professional Service team in Sydney. You will have a chance to work with amazing team and client to flawlessly execute solution implementation and consultation on Snow Software products, adhering to Snow’s best practices, and working closely with cross functional teams in Sales, Engineering, Partner teams, Project Management and Customer Support as required.  

  • You will provide Technical Consulting services to customers that bring credibility, anecdotes, and relevant Snow content to scoping activities, estimates, and solution designs.
  • You will be responsible for researching, consulting, analysing and evaluating system program needs
  • identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures and methods
  • you will be responsible for testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting errors and faults in an applications programming language within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards to ensure programs and applications perform to specification
  • You will be writing, updating and maintaining technical program, end user documentation and operational procedures
  • You will be providing advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities such as financial evaluation and costings for recommending software purchases and upgrade
  • You will assist with technical knowledge transfers, share best practice advice to the Customer, Partner, Snow Support and Snow CSM teams.
  • We are looking for a commercially savvy individual who understand the business context of the project and its benefits to the customer.
  • Travel: up to 30% across Australia

Qualifications

Required skills and expertise 

  • Experience of installing and managing client and server software
  • Experience of working with Windows Server environments (Active Directory, SQL, Windows Server).
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues in a Customer-facing role.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and manage expectations as applicable
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy when working in complex/sensitive situations, communicating clearly in verbal and written form
  • Positive, upbeat attitude with a flexible and pro-active approach to the working environment and the ability to work well independently and with others.
  • Demonstrates a desire to share knowledge and to coach more junior colleagues and Partner resources.
  • Deep understanding of Hardware Asset Management “HAM” and Software Asset Management “SAM” industry best practices.

Must have: 

  • You are a team player, but you also enjoy working independently
  • Excellent technical skills around client and server technologies
  • Understanding of networks, hardware, standards and protocols including switches, routers, DNS, HTTP/S and TCP IP
  • Knowledge of IIS, Microsoft Operating Systems both server and client
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server
  • Knowledge of PowerShell
  • Knowledge of ITIL
  • You can identify, understand, and solve problems, always looking for ways to build improvement
