Job Description

Native/Fluent German speaker is essential.

This is a pivotal management role for ensuring high quality, efficient and profitable delivery of Snow Professional Services to Snow’s Customers and Partners in support of achieving their desired business outcomes with Snow’s software products. You will lead the in-region Project Management, Business and Licensing Consulting teams. You will nurture and developing these functions and the constituent individuals, ensuring tight cohesion between these functions and other Snow functions, plus driving professional presentation of our capabilities and the subsequent results to our Customers and Partners. You will own the P&L for the in-region Professional Services business and be a key business partner for the in-region Sales Leader.

People-Management: provide leadership to, and personal management of, Project Management, Business Consulting and License Consulting Team members, with the associated responsibility for Grow Talks (people development). Training/development plans must be in place with each individual Consultant to meet the mutual needs of Snow and the individual.
(in EMEA there is business scale to operate a matrix management “practise” structure and as such, the Director of Business Consulting owns the content that the Business Consulting and License Consulting team members work with).

Services Leadership Team: work as a key member of the Services Leadership Team, teaming effectively with Services leadership colleagues.  

Practice Development: oversee the development of operational best practice within the Project Management function (and Services Operations where scale supports dedicated Services Operations resource), leveraging international colleagues as necessary to ensure global standards are adhered to and are developed further.  Provide input to operational best practice and Services offerings within the Licensing, Business and Technical Consulting functions.

Process Improvement: provide input to iterative process improvements intra-Customer Success Organisation functions and across other Snow departments, e.g. into Sales, Pre-Sales and Partner teams.

Strategic Contribution: provide constructive input to strategic initiatives within Professional Services, potentially owning specific initiatives under the guidance of the Director, Professional Services.

Commercial Responsibility: Proactively help Snow Sales colleagues develop the commercial terms and scope for Professional Services project work with new logo and installed-base customers. Maintain sign-off authority to decline or adjust propositions being suggested by Snow Sales should these not be aligned to Professional Services KPIs and/or sub-optimal to assuring Customer Success outcomes. Path for escalation is to the Director, Professional Services, should there be contention or exceptional discounting requests.

Performance Achievement:
 
People; Drive a performance culture through MBO and billable utilization contributions by team members. Scope/shape profitable Services business and deliver to cost, quality and time metrics.

Business; Monitor Professional Services KPIs; billable utilization, revenue, profit, revenue backlog, investment work; taking appropriate mitigating steps where performance is drifting away from KPI targets. Produce management reporting regularly, data driven from various Snow systems as applicable. “Own” the regional Professional Services P&L.

Customer Success; Be focused on the customer outcome, strive for customer satisfaction and referenceability through high-quality personal and team contributions that ensure an excellent customer experience throughout the lifecycle.
  

Demand Forecasting: Analyse trends of Service Requests in order to predict and/or forecast the management of the capacity of the Professional Services team, identifying any forthcoming skills gaps and putting in place mitigation plans to address supply verses demand discrepancies.

Resource Management: Optimise the planning and deployment of Professional Services resources in line with business needs. Coordinating the involvement of Professional Services resources to assist in delivering against Professional Services requests, leveraging Project Managers as necessary and working collaboratively with the Services Operations Specialist.

Customer Interaction: Face off to selected Customers and Partners as required in Steering Boards, Kick Off Meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews, Escalation Meetings, maintaining and developing management-level rapports with those applicable Customers and Partners.

Sales Support: complement Sales activities through personal support in Sales pitches that require focus on Delivery approach and Services added value.  Bring credibility, anecdotes, Snow content to these occasions. Assist with RFP content as applicable and in the development of Services marketing materials through provision of relevant content.

  • Lead by example. Be a Leader and a Manager with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
  • Experience in a fast-changing environment. Thrives on change.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • Solid Software Asset Management understanding, gained within Snow, at a competitor, from a Customer or a Partner.
  • Strong technical credentials gained through career history. Whilst this role is not hands-on technical, the subject matter being dealt can be technical, some of the Team members are technical, hence the person in this role needs to be able to grasp the key points to support their personal credibility and to reach the best decisions.
