Responsibilities/Duties   

  • Review drawing packages and obtain quotations from Approved Suppliers list for prototype and production processes.
  • Negotiate with approved suppliers regarding best terms, delivery, quality specifications, and lowest overall cost.
  • Analyze and compare quotations, detailing differences, and competitive advantages of each and recommend best proposal, based upon ‘How would you spend your money!’
  • Process purchase requisitions for new tools, tool modifications, component parts and products in support of new project/programs and updates and changes to existing.
  • Question and justify all price changes, both increases and surcharges.
  • Coordinate activities with global procurement engineers
  • Monitor supplier delivery performance on new and existing products and projects, work with Chinese Sourcing Engineer and Management where improvement is required.
  • Maintain current delivery information on all programs. Providing feedback to project team on all materials, environmental, and supplier issues with Chinese Supplier base.
  • Work with Quality Control to expedite 1st article samples and Corrective Action Request’s from Suppliers.
  • Return of rejected material within 2days of disposition by material review report, coordinate resolution of Corrective Action and delivery of replacement material.
  • Develop new sources of supply, making recommendations to Sourcing, Engineering, and Quality team regarding additions and deletions to the Approved Supplier List.
  • Participate in supplier surveys at their facilities for evaluation of capabilities and capacities.
  • Meet with supplier representatives as needed.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures. Understand company goal of customer satisfaction and continually strive to meet or exceed our customer’s requirements.
  • Assist in the enforcement of the Company’s Code of Ethics policy regarding conflicts of interest, gifts, entertainment, illegal practices, bribes and gratuities.
  • Assist in the departmental goal of orders being placed within one week of appearing on Order Action Report
  • With the global procurement engineer, assists in the project management of all sourced programs from prototype stage to final production.
  • Question purchase requisitions as to make/ buy decisions.
  • Maintain Saving Report.
  • PPV tracking daily basis & Monthly reporting
  • Contract management system maintenance
  • E approval system & process maintain
  • Analysis stage order management
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department Manager.

  • Four-year Business Administration or the equivalent in work experience, plus a minimum of three years buying experience.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • A professional manner.
  • Ability to get along well with others.

  • Attention to detail.
  • Good telephone skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to speak and read English well
