Job Description
We are seeking a highly driven Service Commercial Manager to oversee a complex portfolio of service and maintenance contracts across the Asia-Pacific region.
In this pivotal role, you will act as a key commercial lead, ensuring contracts deliver expected performance, margins are achieved or exceeded, and opportunities for growth and improvement are maximized. You will work cross-functionally to manage risk, enhance contract terms, and ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a comprehensive understanding of service contracts, including terms, pricing, and business cases
- Establish and track KPIs; monitor and analyse contract performance (revenue, cash flow, cost, profit, SLA adherence)
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth and margin improvement through renewals, upselling, and contract variations
- Ensure effective asset-to-contract alignment and minimize spare parts leakage
- Oversee commercial mechanisms (price revisions, reconciliations, service credit calculations) and support penalty mitigation strategies
- Ensure contractual obligations are correctly cascaded internally and across the supply chain
- Lead contract reviews with customers and internal stakeholders
- Proactively manage risks and opportunities across the contract portfolio
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on profit, cost, and cash optimisation
- Support sales teams with contract negotiations, revisions, and drafting within financial and legal guidelines
- Develop and manage contract renewal timelines to ensure timely and optimal outcomes
- Build and maintain revenue, profit forecasts, and demand planning models
- Ensure accurate installed base data management (hardware/software lifecycle)
- Contribute to improvements in contract templates and service offerings
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Law, or related field
Experience
- Proven experience managing commercial portfolios (~£40m or equivalent)
- Strong track record optimising large-scale contracts (£10m+) with measurable margin and revenue improvements
- Experience influencing stakeholders in a matrix organisation
- Background in engineered products, preferably with aftermarket/service exposure in B2B or B2G environments
Skills & Expertise
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including cost management
- Expertise in pricing, negotiation, and contract drafting
- Solid understanding of contract law
- Experience in project/programme and change management
- Strong risk management capability
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
