Job Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Supervisor to join the Slough Team. This role is a key leadership position within the Gas Seal Engineering team, responsible for guiding and developing a global group of first‑fit engineers. As a technical expert, you will oversee day‑to‑day engineering activities, ensuring delivery against KPIs while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will provide hands‑on leadership, mentoring both junior and senior engineers, managing workloads, and building technical capability across the team. The role also works closely with Commercial, Sales, and Operations, strengthening cross‑functional partnerships and supporting knowledge sharing, coaching, and technical training across wider engineering functions.
This role is based from our headquarters within Slough working Monday to Friday normal office hours.

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Junior and Senior Engineers.
- Managing the daily activities of a team of local designers.
- Build technical competence and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage team workload, ensuring an effective balance of skills and development opportunities.
- Planning work and projects to meet agreed upon goals and customer expectations.
- Review and approve engineering evaluations, repair plans, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Able to discern which gas seal applications to accept or not based on technical challenges.
- Support knowledge sharing, coaching, and technical training across engineering teams.
- Manage all first fit gas seal designers in the UK office.
- Promoting a culture of quality and actively pursuing continuous improvement.
- Measuring and reporting team performance, ensuring the highest level of work (flawless design).
- Ensure that customer technical requests are fulfilled by team in a timely manner with high quality output of team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Technical expert in mechanical seals or similar rotating equipment, minimum 5 years experience.
- Advanced understanding of compressors and rotating equipment.
- Independent creation in the SolidEdge program
- Positive attitude toward teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external groups.
