Job Description
The position:
The Engineer II works within the Regional Engineering team, reporting to the Lead Engineer or Technical / Engineering Manager. Guided by more senior engineers where appropriate, they take responsibility for day-to-day technical support to the country or region This includes product selection and specification, and troubleshooting, sometimes liaising with customers with support from Sales and Aftermarket.
Missions and Responsibilities
- Reviewing & processing application requests / projects received.
- Technical Selection of standard WS, WSS, couplings, … JC product portfolio, supported by a Lead Engineer or Regional Engineering Manager.
- Generation of engineering proposals, CAD/specifications acc.to customer expectations and to aid liaison with GDC, supported by a Lead Engineer or Regional Engineering Manager.
- Calculations (including seal leakage, heat generation, balance temp, flow rates etc. and calculations for couplings, WSS and filtration)
- Produce complete and informative drawing office requests and provide applications guidance to designers to complete layout (GA) and detail drawings
- Raise / process Global Change Notice (GCN) requests
- Approve / reject purchase or manufacture of fabricated parts not to drawing specification
- Detailed failure analysis activities, including investigation / reporting / resolution, supported by Lead Engineer or Regional Engineering Manager, normally at Service Centre
- Detailed technical presentations to customers to support Sales team
- Participate on retrofitting, helping in Engineering Activities, supported by Lead Engineer or Regional Engineering manager, mainly in Service Centre.
- Collaborate with 3D Scanning activities.
- Work closely with the Training and Enablement team, provide technical training to employees and customers
Qualifications
Required Profile:
Education/Training:
- Degree qualified Engineer, BEng, MEng or equivalent, perhaps with ongoing application for professional membership / chartership – e.g. MIMechE, CEng.
Experience:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent professional experience.
