Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible, under the direction of the Facilities Manager, for the overall maintenance of the building and all areas related to the day‐to‐day maintenance operations, including supporting the Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) Department concerning facilities. U.S. Citizenship required and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving basic electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
  • Performs preventive building maintenance duties, HVAC preventive maintenance and minor repairs, such as replacing A/C filters.
  • Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains.
  • Performs basic electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in replacing ballast and light fixtures.
  • Assembles and moves furniture, move, and set up tables and chairs.
  • Distribution and collecting of cleaning solvents used for our production soldering process. (Training will be provided)
  • Moderate heavy lifting, using assistance as needed.
  • Forklift operation certification/training.
  • Inspect equipment, machinery, and facilities to avoid potential hazards.
  • Conducts safety inspections, observations, and assessments.
  • Assists in handling site’s RCRA (resource conservation & recovery act) and non-RCRA wastes for disposal.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •  Knowledge of trade related to building maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
  • Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skill in reading and following assembly instructions for building repairs.
  • Skill in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written to all levels of the organization.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • All other duties as required to support the organization.
  • Valid driver license.
  • DOT (HM-181) and RCRA (40 CFR 262) certificates, or ability to obtain after employment.

Education/Experience:  High School Diploma or GED and one (1-2) years building maintenance experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Security: U.S. Citizenship required and the ability to obtain a security clearance.
