Job Description
The basic function of the Process Engineer is to conduct research, design equipment and fixtures, develop processing techniques, direct technical work concerned with manufacture of RF Filters by performing the following duties.
- Develops new and improves existing processes as necessary.
- Analyzes results of test to determine combinations of materials and processes which will improve quality and profitability of products.
- Coordinates testing activities of finished products for characteristics such as texture, color, durability and electrical properties.
- Writes and initiates complete manufacturing processes.
- Trouble shoots processing problems and makes decisions to correct.
- Reviews work for accuracy and completeness.
- Contributes to Department functions – meetings, goals, training, etc.
- Completes any additional assignments as requested by Department Supervisor.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Passive RF component development experience.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/of move up to 50 pounds moving equipment periodically.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or similar.
- Professional certification desired
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
- Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
