Job Description

  • Dismantling and cleaning of mechanical seals and parts under repair.
  • Inspection of mechanical seals and seal cartridges.
  • Prepare breakdown of parts required for the repair in accordance with the seal repair analysis procedures.
  • Assemble and repair mechanical seals and seal cartridges in accordance with John Crane drawings and specifications including locally manufactured metal parts, repaired metal and non-metal parts when needed.
  • Testing of mechanical seals and seal cartridges in accordance with John Crane specifications.
  • Manage local inventory of seal spares for both contractual and transactional repairs.
  • Ensures quality & safety within functions/ tasks performed by himself/herself and staff reporting to him/her
  • Responsible for exercising due diligence towards health & safety of self and others within the organization
  • Ensures compliance with the applicable HSE instructions, requirements, laws and regulations received from customers, regulatory and statutory bodies
  • Knowledge of seal failure modes is an advantage.

Qualifications

Education/Training: Diploma or University degree in Engineering or relevant vocational technical qualification

Experience:             3+ years of professional experience in proactive multinational & multicultural environment

Knowledge/Skills:    Ability to understand component and assembly drawings.

                              Lapping and polishing knowledge.

                              With 5 years’ experience machining – lathe, drill etc.

                               Knowledge of John Crane product portfolio.

                              Computer literate in MS Office. SAP knowledge will be an advantage.

Languages:             English. Speaking in Arabic is an advantage
