Job Description
Job Purpose:
- Manages the North American Burn-In FAE group and function as the key technical expert for customers and sales channel.
- Focus on both the quantity and quality of our Semi & Burn-In sales to customers through technical expertise and assistance in current sales efforts, as well as innovation for new product platforms. Customers will include both local and globally managed accounts.
- Visits customers in collaboration with the Sales Account Manager and conducts product application training and support for Sales, Marketing personnel and for Customers.
- Responsible for selling complex technological products and services, ensure the products are meeting customers’ needs, maintain and increase Smiths Semiconductor revenue in coordination with other internal departments for support in their respective territory and key account(s).
- The Technical Sales Manager will work closely with the Regional Sales managers and Customer Service teams to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Work and coordinate with other Semi Sales managers to ensure the consistent, cost effective and efficient response to customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Management of FAE staff: training, performance reviews, hires, terminate, motivate, coach and discipline staff, and all personnel issues.
- Responsible for training subordinates in policies and procedures.
- Increase sales in accordance with the corporate growth strategy.
- Work closely with the direct and indirect sales channels to discover and define new qualified opportunities in alignment with company objectives and established goals.
- Drive opportunities to Design Win in alignment with company objectives and established goals.
- Thorough technical understanding of all Smiths Semiconductor Brands and capabilities
- Effective Solution-based selling utilizing the technologies and capabilities of Smiths Semiconductor.
- Work closely with the Regional Sales Managers to most effectively utilize time and resources to support customers and sales channel.
- Utilize the Smiths Semiconductor systems and processes to input customer requirements and search of customer use drawings.
- Provide technical support and design guidance to Customers, Regional Sales Managers, and the indirect sales channel within the assigned territory.
- Identify and help to enhance the company's competitive advantage to end customers, while overcoming barriers to entry
- Responsible for pre-sales applications support to customers, internal departments, and sales teams.
- Help to define new products and new applications and solves customer application problems in a timely manner.
- Maintain and prioritize customer projects working closely with Engineering, Customer Service, Business Development & Marketing, and Project Management.
- Support trade shows, technical conferences, and industry events, perform additional sales-related duties as requested by management.
Accountabilities:
- Proven ability to develop, negotiate, work directly with customers, and close complex technical issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and presentation.
- Ability to persuade and motivate others, team player and collaborative worker.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Solid knowledge of the semiconductor test market
Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects in parallel
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Associate degree and 10 years related industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years related industry experience.
- Field Sales or Engineering experience in the Semiconductor industry.
- Advanced knowledge of Semiconductor Test and Burn-In products and applications preferable.
- Ability to travel up to 50% or more, if needed.
- US Citizen or permanent resident (ITAR compliance) for necessary accounts
