Job Description

Job Title: Technology Solutions Consultant 
Job Location:  Remote in the Madison - Milwaukee, Southern Wisconsin area 

  • No relocation assistance is provided. 
  • Company vehicle provided 
  • Home office and cell reimbursement 
  • Typically onsite Monday-Thursday daytime, Home in the evening.   

 
Starting salary: $70,157.31-$77,173.10 (salary commensurate with experience) 
   
Skyward is looking for an Technology Solutions Consultant that has a strong desire to work with the latest technology, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and wishes to be part of a team where your input is valued. 
 
A consultant's focus is to install and support network infrastructure that helps Teachers and School Administrators quickly perform their daily tasks so they can focus on what's most important; the students. 
 
The ideal candidate will have significant IT experience and will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, as well as knowledge of networking, and technologies like Microsoft, VMWare, Micro Focus, SonicWall, and HPE / Aruba.  Consultants work in a team environment where we work both independently and as a team to meet company and department goals.  IT Services Consultants perform a wide variety of billable IT Services for our customers.   
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Network Infrastructure Support: 
    • New Server Installs / Upgrades / Migrations 
    • Install and Configure Storage Area Networks 
    • Windows Desktop / Server Support 
    • Virtual Server Support 
    • Performance Troubleshooting 
    • SQL & Progress Database Support (Backup / Restore / Repair) 
    • Implement and Manage Network Services such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and Email 
    • Install and configure a wide variety of 3rd Party products 
    • Research and Testing of new technology

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or associate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, or related field, OR two years of related IT experience  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Server and Desktop Technologies 
  • Proficient in Networking Fundamentals (Switches, Firewalls, Routers, Wireless) 
  • Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server a plus 
  • Experience with Server Hardware / Storage a plus 
  • Experience with Hyper-V / VMWare a plus 
  • Experience with Cloud Solutions such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform is a plus 
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be able to work both in team and solo environments 
  • Travel is required
