Job Description
The A&P Mechanic & Inspector Supervisor is responsible for the proper flow of the maintenance performed during their shift. They will assign work to be performed and provide inspection support for the scheduled inspection crew and line maintenance Technicians. Supervisors are Repair Station Inspectors and are expected to follow Repair Station procedures as outlined for both titles. This includes the repairing, inspecting and maintaining the structural, mechanical and electronic elements of the aircraft, replacing parts, measuring wear and assessing whether parts need repair or replacement.
- Performing aircraft maintenance and repairs in accordance with applicable:
- Federal Aviation Regulations
- Company and repair station manuals
- Company and department policies
- FAA ASAP and Skyborne SMS Programs
- Performing inspections, testing, repairing light aircraft
- Responsible to the Chief Inspector and Quality Assurance Supervisor for the following:
- Perform technician duties as needed to support the aircraft availability
- Assist in the continuing technician development training of all Repair Station personnel
- Maintain the Repair Station facilities, equipment and tools in a clean and orderly fashion
- Providing aircraft requiring scheduled inspections or repairs and assigning technicians to specific jobs, assigning the technician reasonable time goals for the completion of the task, and continuous supervision throughout the completion of the inspection / repair.
- Inspect all calibrated tools prior to their use for condition
- Coordinate the acquisition of parts needed
- Making applicable technical data available to the technicians and assisting in its interpretation
- Ensuring consistent quality of workmanship
- Inspecting work performed by the Technicians
- To ensure that no rejected, defective, unserviceable, or un-airworthy parts are installed in any component or article released by the Repair Station and ensuring the proper identification of such parts
- To create a plan of action at the start of each day and log it in the RSM Calendar. To provide a concise and complete turnover at the end of shift documenting the days accomplishments. Leaving the next shift a turnover when work is still in progress. Its purpose is to pass on information to the succeeding Inspector or Supervisor, and to ensure continuity of inspection responsibility for in-progress work
- Participate and promote the safety culture, reporting all aviation safety related issues via the feedback system, and adhere to the processes related to accomplishing goals
Qualifications
- General Aviation experience with 100 hour, annual inspections, sheet metal repairs, trouble shooting systems and replacement of parts experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in aviation with three or more years working at FAA Repair Station
- Airframe and Power plant license required.
- Positive and professional attitude

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
