Skyborne Opportunity

We are looking for skilled and talented Compliance Officer, who will be responsible for Leading Skyborne Airline Academy’s safety initiatives to include developing a safety culture with the necessary systems, processes, and controls to elevate the safe outcomes of all Skyborne Airline Academy activities.

Implementation of corporate and regulatory standards as they pertain to Safety Management activities and planning, implementation, and operation. 

Qualifications

Professional requirements are as follows:

  • Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
  • Accountable for the security of Skyborne Airline Academy materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of Skyborne Airline Academy products.
  • Attend, facilitate and/or research training to increase management skills in responsiveness to workplace issues.
  • Create a cooperative environment through beneficial behavior, commitment to common goals, contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, and encouragement to other teammates and departments.
  • GAT supervisory responsibilities.
  • Maintain Skyborne Airline Academy's commitment to customer satisfaction while performing job duties.
  • Prioritize workflow on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Travel may be required and may be needed upon short notice.

Documentation and reporting activities:

  • Assists in the continuous improvement/development of processes and tools in the hazard identification and tracking systems.
  • Completes and uploads SAG Meeting notes into SMS software tools.
  • Ensures all pertinent data is entered into the Skyborne Airline Academy Safety Database and associated software tools for analysis, assignment of required follow-up actions, and tracking on outcomes/completion of required tasks. 
  • Ensures various Skyborne Airline Academy departments, teammates, and students participate in EAP drills and lead necessary Safety Stand-downs.
  • Maintains all required FAA ASAP Program documentation to include, but not limited to the quarterly ASAP Program reports, Event Review Committee (ERC) meeting agendas, ERC meeting minutes, all ASAP occurrence report and remedial training documentation, yearly ERC review, ASAP Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
  • Maintains and updates the Skyborne Airline Academy Emergency Action Plans (EAP).
  • Maintains and updates the Skyborne Airline Academy SMS Manual, associated SMS work instructions, forms, and overall SMS documentation.
  • Provide written and/or verbal records and reports summarizing findings and recommending actions associated with hazard reports, flight and maintenance occurrence reports, Flight Risk Assessment Tools (FRAT), Maintenance Risk Assessment Tools (MRAT), safety audit(s) and inspections completed by the safety stand-downs, NAA’s, regulators, and customers.

Education and other required skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred, or five (5) years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; equivalency years’ experience substitution must be in related field.
  • Minimum (5) years’ experience in similar positions within corporate, charter/airline, or military organizations is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of ICAO Annex 19, FAA Part 5, EASA ATO requirements and regulations as they pertain to Safety Management Systems.
  • Documented experiences with theory and practice of Safety Management Systems.
  • A minimum of (2) years Project Management experience; documented experience specifically in coaching and developing others’ skills, mentoring, and facilitating.
  • A minimum of (5) years’ experience in process-based management techniques which include tools, methods, statistics, and continual improvement, corrective and preventative actions.
  • Familiarity with the DMAIC process (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, and Control)
  • Safety Management and/or aircraft accident investigation training preferred.
  • SMS course or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with internal Skyborne stakeholders and external aviation industry organizations such as regulators and OEMs preferred.
  • Experience using Lean/Six Sigma continual process improvement tools, and Green.
  • Knowledge of working with a large-scale training management system, preferred, Logbook.
  • General knowledge of the following software: MS Office; MS Access, preferred.
  • Other software programs may be required, as needed.
  • Contingent to employment, all candidates must pass a drug screening and background check, along with TSA badging-if required for your role.
