Job Description

Overview and Objectives of the Position:

Due to the continued growth and success of the business, the outsourced finance function is now going to be brought in house. A dynamic and motivated Finance controller is required to lead this process and maintain a successful working relationship with the business management in order to provide sound financial and commercial advice in all areas of decision making. 

Key responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. All Accounting/Finance matters including all accounting and financial reporting related duties for the Company
  2. VAT returns
  3. Manage and maintain Purchase and Sales ledger
  4. Bank reconciliation
  5. Assist with annual audit
  6. Posting and checking of invoices (both incoming/outgoing)
  7. Managing and tracking student payment plans
  8. Communication with student Pilots to ensure payment plans are received on time
  9. Management Accounts
  10. Expense claims
  11. Petty cash
  12. Managing payment runs using On-line Banking
  13. Responding to all accounts queries
  14. Payroll
  15. Pricing – develop pricing models
  16. Forecasting  - responsible for accurate forecasting

Qualifications

  1. Qualified Accountant
  2. Strong experience with accounting packages and small business accounting software
  3. Strong Spreadsheet skills
  4. Effective communication skills
  5. Positive and professional attitude
  6. Well organised and analytical
  7. Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities
  8. Highly motivated and interested in being part of a small and talented team
  9. Experience of working within a small finance team and start-up business
