Skip Hop is seeking a full-time Product Designer of Hardgoods to join our growing team. Our team brings design to life, introducing innovative essentials for new moms and dads all over the world. The Hardgoods Product Designer must be a strategic thinker and have experience working with creative teams in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. This person will have the opportunity to help develop innovative products from concept through design and final product. This is a great opportunity for growth and advancement for passionate, self-starting designers who want to work in a fun environment filled with other passionate, creative designers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conducts research and creates sketches for outstanding solutions for a variety of simple to complex problems with products.

• Specifying new products and creating manufacture-ready 3D CAD files.

• Communicates effectively with factories and/or model-makers to develop innovative products.

• Collaborates with product designers to find compelling solutions.

• Works with overseas office and factories to optimize tooling and identify key cost savings.

• Works on product categories including, but not limited to: Accessories, toys, feeding, etc. 

• Assists with other projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• 4-year degree in Industrial Design required.

• 3+ years of full-time design experience; Toy and children’s product background preferred.

• Experience designing for injection-molding and general DFM.

• SolidWorks skills required; Other CAD software packages are considered.

• Excellent sketching skills required.

• Proficiency in Adobe CS.

• Clean, modern aesthetic and attention to detail.

• Must be available for international travel 2-3 times per year.

• Experience working with Asian factories preferred. 

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
