JOB PURPOSE-

The Café Attendant welcomes and greets guests at the Skechers Cafe, providing a friendly and exceptional dining experience. During service hours, the Café Attendant takes food and beverage orders from guests and uses the point-of-sale (POS) system to accept and process payments. They are also responsible for packaging and distributing orders, maintaining displays of foods, beverages, and snacks, and ensuring the Skechers Café is a clean, safe, and friendly environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-

• Warmly greet guests on arrival, addressing them by name whenever possible.
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes; answer questions, and offer personalized recommendations when applicable.
• Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, responding promptly and courteously to any requests and referring to the Café Manager as appropriate.
• Build positive relationships with customers, fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
• Take food and beverage orders from guests, entering orders in the Skechers Café point-of-sale system.
• Use the Skechers Café point-of-sale (POS) system to prepare bills, present checks to guest, accept payment, and process credit card charges.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial transactions for purchased items.
• Call out name of party when order becomes available.
• Create and publish digital and printed menus and menu signs as direct by management.
• Display, stock, and re-stock food, beverage, snacks, and other items in the Skechers Café to ensure product availability for customers.
• Rotate inventory as directed by management to ensure freshness while minimizing waste.
• Prepare, package, and serve food and specialty drinks with attention to quality and presentation.
• Maintain clean service areas, e.g., clearing, cleaning tables, floors, etc.
• Maintain food safety standards and Skechers’s standards for freshness.
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
• Treat all management and fellow team-members with respect to support a healthy and positive team environment.
• Follow all standard policies and procedures within their assigned department.
• Comply with the Skechers Café uniform requirements and maintain a professional presence.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

• Food Handler Certification.
• Able to work on-site at the Skechers Café.
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good communication skills (both written and oral).
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, quick-moving environment.
• Able to work overtime hours when necessary.
• General availability to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Café Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in both a retail and café setting preferred.

Pay range for this position is $25-$28/hr
