Pay Range: $ 28.02 - $31.12

POSITION SUMMARY:         

The Inventory Control Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of inventory at Skechers Distribution Centers by collecting data from various sources, analyzing and identifying trends and issues, creating insightful reporting to help improve DC inventory accuracy and smooth flow of work.  This position will backup and support the IC Analyst staff by assisting with typical IC Analyst duties, keep report design up-to-date and optimized to maximize efficiency of department efforts, perform special analysis projects, and other analytical assignments to proactively address potential issues and prepare for change and growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Learn and perform reporting functions for the department, becoming proficient on all the various software platforms, apps, and tools used by the department.
  2. Perform standalone and/or ongoing projects involving analysis of data.  May include importing/exporting data between platforms/apps, as well as reporting on findings and making recommendations to management.
  3. Analyze and make updates to queries, formulas, programming on internal department apps and tools.
  4. Enhance and streamline report design and reporting processes, as well as create new department reports.
  5. Review department reports generated to ensure accuracy of report programming and data input.
  6. Run other updates and perform periodic maintenance on department databases.
  7. Update reference documents, department forms, and maintain network files and folders.
  8. Distribute department reports to appropriate distribution.
  9. Make recommendations to management and IT for improving processes, programming, data storage strategy, reporting, etc. to help achieve greater inventory accuracy, compliance, and smoother flow of orders through the DC.
  10. Learn and perform various IC Analyst functions:
    1. Review filter report issues and resolve all issues in appropriate time frame.
    2. Monitor urgent on-line orders and un-waved orders and resolve as soon as possible.
    3. Communicate issues as necessary to appropriate contacts in other departments, corporate office, and management.
    4. Explain any perpetual inventory issues encountered to management.
    5. Ensure that any processing shortages are immediately researched and follow up with appropriate contacts.
    6. Ensure that all items from the analyst checklist (exception reports, tools, etc.) are worked correctly and with required frequency.
    7. Ensure that cycle count cycles are being worked in most efficient manner and with required frequency.
    8. Delegate daily workload to staff.
    9. Learn all WMS RF options and train and develop staff’s skills in transacting product on the floor.
    10. Ensure that internal audits are being performed correctly, without bias, and with required frequency.
    11. Research reported discrepancies, capture data, report on operational errors for process improvement.
    12. Quickly and accurately enter all data into department databases.
    13. Learn all advanced WMS options, inquiries, and tools required to adequately analyze inventory issues.
    14. Learn functions of other departments involved in inventory movement and how to audit, identify, and fix errors.
  11. Perform other Inventory Control duties as necessary.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

4+ years Data Entry experience required

Experience in Inventory Control, Compliance preferred

Experience in a Distribution environment preferred

Qualifications

  • Experience querying, reviewing, and analyzing transactions on a business platform required
  • Experience developing reporting from datasets and relational databases is required
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge, including Excel and Access, visual basic required
  • SQL knowledge required
  • Report/dashboard building in Power BI or similar app required
  • PKMS or similar WMS software, and/or some DC experience preferred.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially MS Excel, and MS Access, MS Office visual basic and automation knowledge required.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience working with data sets and creating reporting.
  • Excellent data entry speed and computer skills.
  • Excellent analytical and math skills required
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, performing computer tasks, and responding to a high volume of contacts required
  • Good business communication skills, written and verbal
  • Integrity and good work habits required
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
