About the Payroll Team Leader role 

As the Payroll Team Leader, you will help lead the payroll function and ensure that processes remain efficient and effective in line with expectations.  

Main duties and responsibilities will consist of but not limited to:

  • Ensure the processing of the monthly payroll is accurate and on time.
  • Help implement improvements to processes and systems to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
  • Ensure the overall perception of payroll professionalism is maintained.
  • Highlight opportunities in the business and liaise with the HR Director to suggest and implement solutions as and when required.
  • Assist with insurance brokers, benefit vendors, and other external benefits providers as required and in liaison with the HR Director.

Core skills as a Payroll Team Leader 

You will need to demonstrate the below skills/experience as well as having experience of Payroll systems and managing others:

  • Be an enthusiastic individual who has experience in running a UK payroll. Knowledge of Irish payroll would be an advantage.
  • A team player who is happy to work in a small, busy team and share the workload when needed, and also lead payroll-related projects in collaboration with the team and HRD.
  • Confident and organised person who has a good knowledge of Excel and excellent attention to detail.
  • An innovative and enquiring individual who is keen to learn and progress in their career.
  • A quick learner who likes to expand their knowledge and thrives in a diverse and exciting role.

This is an initial fixed-term contract (12 months) with the potential to progress onto a permanent role thereafter within Skechers.
