Job Description

The  Customs Compliance Analyst  (temporary) classifies footwear and other merchandise for the United States and potentially other countries. This person also interfaces with other Skechers employees and outside vendors such as customs brokers and transportation companies. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

  • Classify using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) primarily for US and other countries as well, primarily for footwear and other merchandise as well. 
  • Work with customs broker and internal stakeholders on various customs-related processes. 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES-

  • FTA certificate of origin management
  • CHB customs broker communications
  • Coordination with FTZ on receiving and related issues
  • Perform other tasks as needed. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES-

  • No.  

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

  • Ability to multi-task and attention to detail is a must. 
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience at an intermediate level. 
  • Ability to learn and master Skechers’ computer systems related to daily tasks. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. 
  • Must work well in a team environment and able to work unsupervised. 
  • Must take excellent notes and maintain daily desk procedures. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-

  • Degree Preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of classification experience primarily in footwear and apparel, and experience classifying other varying commodities. 
  • Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook are required.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding the Harmonized Tariff Schedule. 
  • Familiar with U.S. Customs regulations and requirements. 
  • Understanding of ocean freight, and other logistics terminology.
