Job Description

Obtain an extensive knowledge of the Skechers Performance/Work product divisions you will represent for distributor partners. Support company objectives to enable continued growth and profitability in the International division. Use in depth analysis and product knowledge/features/benefits to propose new ideas and opportunities for business growth. Have a strong understanding of different market’s needs in order to successfully build assortments that will drive sales in that specific country. Effectively communicate all directives on products to distributor partners via emails, video calls and in person.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

Become a product expert. Manage product assortments and comunicate all aspects of merchandising. Consistently monitor the distributors business to identify opportunities on key styles/categories and make recommendations with the intent to increase sales.

  • Own your product divisions and company initiatives. Act as an adviser to our distributor partners in creating compelling assortments. Manage assortments tailored to distributor’s market opportunities, customer needs and strategy across multiple divisions.
  • Effectively communicate to distributor partners to understand overall sales trends, key initiatives, marketing strategies and overall product direction.
  • Lead Monthly/Quarterly conference calls with partners to discuss current state of the business, opportunities and misses within each market.
  • Review and Analyze bookings/shipments by country consistently. Report on business trend by category. Analyze country/account selling by division/outsole/style/sku to identify trends and best sellers for partners to react on and maximize.
  • Review weekly US direct to consumer/wholesales selling to leverage best sellers, product opportunities, and business initiatives across the globe.
  • Work in partnership with International merchandising team/Planning team/Product Development team on pre-season planning by hindsighting categories to build stronger merchandising and assortment strategies (International key initiatives) for the upcoming season and other various projects.
  • Collaborate with Product Development team to stay on top of product direction, status and global trend.
  • Maintain regional line sheets, new adds, drops, buys, product revisions, availability, product images and substitute style recommendations to protect orders.
  • Responsible for answering questions daily with sense of urgency and communicating all product/business/country related information to each distributor on a regular and timely basis, it is essential as the time differences in regions can cause delays. 
  • Continually review product assortments to be sure that all key initiatives are represented and make educated recommendations for styles that can work within distributor’s market.
  • Manage Special Make-up Product Request for specific market.
  • Partner with distributors to work on projections by outsole/category and able to put together a sales target at the SKU level as needed.
  • Evolve current processes and systems in support of company objectives to enable continued growth.
  • Maintain/Run/Review varies reports from Micro strategy/Dossier systems to provide appropriate analysis.
  • Aggressive sales approach needed. Ability to be influential in person, video calls and emails are essential.
  • Educate, train, communicate and coach distributor partners on product/category knowledge, product features and benefits
  • Maintain assortment/order submission date and event/tradeshow/conference timeline calendar.
  • Support/Manage distributors’ sales/showroom sample needs for buy meetings, trade shows and sales conferences in partnership with International Sample Team
  • Collaborate and communicate with VP – GMM of International

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

  • Global Merchandising/Buying/Sales experience in footwear/apparel/accessories
  • Extensive product knowledge of a large volume of skus, excellent product sensibility and conceptual ability.
  • Experience managing a team of direct reports with ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Must be comfortable with product presentations. Present your line at sales meetings and conferences with confidence and must be able to react to challenging questions
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables and v-lookups)
  • Ability to take initiative, ownership and accountability for business Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate high level of quality work, well-organized with focused attention to details.

  • Ability to be flexible. adaptable in a multi-task environment with a sense of urgency

  • Ability to travel, if needed (approximately 5-10% of time)   

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-

  • +10 years of Merchandising experience with large volume of SKUs
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • International and footwear experience preferred
  • Sales background a plus

The salary range for this position is $64,480-$110,000/year.
