Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and passionate individual to join our Data & Analytics team as Data Solutions Architect to help develop and grow Data Solutions Architecture discipline and drive the expansion and adoption of our next generation data and analytics platform and related applications.

 

This position demands strong leadership with the ability to collaborate across the organization. You will be working with current and emerging technologies. Hands-on experience, excellent analytical skills, team orientation, flexibility, innovative thinking, problem solving, conflict management, and self-motivation are required. The opportunity requires you to be able to contribute at a senior level, to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug complex data issues, at the enterprise level. As an architect you will collaborate with both product, engineering and operations teams so great communication skills are a necessity.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

  • Gain an understanding of the current data landscape, collaborate with existing architects to define the target data architecture strategy that enables a unified data model that is scalable.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and practices.
  • Deliver Data Architecture and solutions in alignment with our Enterprise Architecture standards, principles and guidelines, and advocate for Enterprise Architecture models and patterns.
  • Lead designing of all aspects of our data & analytics solution including artifact creation such as diagrams, playbook's and other technical documents.
  • Maintain and lead the creation of Data Models, Data Dictionary, Business Glossary, etc.
  • Responsible for understanding end-to-end data flows and identifying data dependencies in support of delivery, release, and change management.
  • Introduce standard methodologies and principles around data governance to enable consistent delivery and enable alignment with strategic direction.
  • Facilitating the reuse of code, components, and proven patterns supporting data and modern architecture.
  • Push the organization to become more data driven and drive forward towards innovations in the data space; actively learn from the broader industry and brings insights back to the organization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration with the Data Analysts throughout the organization.
  • Partner with various business stakeholders and technology leaders to translate program requirements into scalable technical solutions and system designs.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

  • Proficiency in defining current and future state data architecture models.
  • Knowledge of cloud data platforms & technologies (e.g., AWS S3, AWS Redshift, Kinesis/Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.).
  • Experience with Data Modeling and UML tools such as ER/Studio, Sparx Systems, etc.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to build original concepts and hypotheses for a variety of projects.
  • Excellent communication skills that translate business problems in technical solutions.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and interaction skills, including ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical issues and concepts to multiple organization levels.
  • Expert level ability to program in SQL (such as PL/SQL, TSQL)
  • Experience and knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Scala, Python)

NICE TO HAVES-

  • 2+ years of experience with cloud-based Big Data technologies, preferably AWS stack.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in a Data Solution Architect role.
  • Combined 7+ years of experience in several of the following areas: software design and development; data engineering, data modeling, architecting of modern heavily utilized, highly available data applications.

The salary range for this position is $64,865-$176,100/year.
