Job Description

Skechers USA’s Information Technology PMO is looking for a Sr Project Manager to support our Distribution Center group to fill a position overseeing technology projects with Skechers, USA.  This person will be responsible for all aspects of project management for the project portfolio. The successful candidate will ensure consistency with Skechers, USA technology standards and processes. Manage the implementation of an event such as an operational start-up or closedown, process improvement initiative, network redesign or systems deployment within a Region. Responsible for the formalization of a realistic timeline, complete with milestones, targets and identification of responsible parties. Handles many tasks and assignments directly, delegating as needed to other subject matter experts. Will ensure stakeholder and shareholder buy-in and facilitate regular communication to convey progress, inhibitors or roadblocks to the successful completion.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

Standard project management utilizing best practices for an on time, on schedule delivery.  The candidate will execute project management methodology, operational execution while partnering with the Information Technology team.  Duties include:

  • Own and drive distribution capability scale up from concept to completion
  • Gather requirements and drive solutions by closely collaborating with internal & external stakeholders through all roadmap stages.
  • Build business cases, organize teams, set and track objectives, manage operational changes, and transition projects to operations.
  • Translate distribution requirements to drive objectives and timelines for real estate, construction, facilities, security, and IT infrastructure teams.
  • Champion project management practices
  • Create and spearhead project plans, define success, and drive execution to meet critical milestones and organizational objectives.
  • Determine deliverables and resource needs – people, capital, equipment, etc.; identify risks and action plan(s) across all project stages.
  • Develop and manage project budget by monitoring and controlling costs; determine and mitigate cost risks to timelines and scope.
  • Identify and drive process and facility design efficiencies to drive improvements in service level, order to delivery lead time, and unit economics.
  • Design direct and indirect processes within the facility, from receiving to shipping.
  • Design and execute detailed complex activities involved in a DC launch – facility build out, inventory relocation, systems installation, staffing ramp, transportation setups, etc.

The successful candidate will be both self-motivated and collaborative as is necessary to operate in the realm of enterprise technology projects, interacting with team members and vendors to resolve issues quickly.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

  • Provide support and coaching to a team of Corporate and Operational resources
  • Work with user groups to develop financial justification for new requirements. Ensure compliance with all SOX requirements. Take a leadership role for these needs on corporate driven Distribution & Warehousing initiatives.
  • Execute on prioritized projects associated with technology, innovation, and disruptive thinking. Inclusive but not limited to applications such as WMS and warehouse automation technologies
  • Constantly evaluate current systems and processes leading to the identification and implementation of design alternatives facilitating an advocacy for a continuous improvement culture
  • Support operational excellence through employing a toolkit that incorporates the use of six sigma and lean methodologies
  • Manage supplier relationships related to building construction, WMS installation, inclusive of materials, software and hardware
  • Actively support cross-functional clients by synthesizing key business needs into a prioritized, structured queue of projects and activities. Continuously engage with all constituents to support timely implementations
  • Identify and implement metrics to monitor the performance and timeliness of technological and system/ process changes
  • Perform other tasks as directed by manager
  • Able to take strategic direction from management and participate in strategic planning activities throughout the lifetime of the project
  • Has a “can-do” attitude and able to see tasks through to completion with minimal guidance

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Equivalent work experience also accepted.
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Seven to ten years as Project Manager, Program Manager, Scrum Master, Business Analyst, or similar role, managing a variety of projects, including technology and operations initiatives
  • One to three years in a management role, ideally managing project managers, business analysts, or similar roles
  • Previous experience in warehousing, 3PL, warehouse automation, distribution, or similar industries strongly preferred
  • In-depth experience with Microsoft Project, SmartSheets, Atlassian, ServiceNow PPM
  • (or other project management tools, i.e. Clarity)
  • In-depth experience in Agile methodologies (SDLC, SCRUM, KANBAN)
  • PMP, CSM Certifications preferred
  • Other duties as assigned.

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000/year.
