Job Description

The Divisional Merchandise Manager (DMM) manages the merchandise direction and strategy to ensure achievement of company business goals for both retail stores and our Ecommerce business. In this role, you will develop, execute, and drive inclusive merchandise strategies that delight the customer while meeting or exceeding the financial goals of the business. You will work closely with your cross functional partners using customer insights, market data and business performance to bring great products to market. The DMM will develop strategy with the team of merchandisers and ensure customer satisfaction and maximize business performance and profitability by executing business plans that maximize sales, margins, and inventory turnover.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- 

  • Direct and drive merchandise assortments that meet global, digital, and regional customer needs aligned to the overall department strategy, resulting in increased earnings.
  • Develop and drive overall category strategy to deliver on top-down sales targets.  Collaborate with planning team to set seasonal sales and inventory plans to ensure we are supporting areas of growth and setting realistic targets.
  • Guides team to increase knowledge of market trends, strengths, and weaknesses in the industry and within competitive sets.
  • Build partnerships with corporate teams and attend assortment meetings to understand seasonal product direction.
  • Regularly influence leadership team decisions and initiatives.
  • Coach and lead the buying team to realize goals while collaborating with Merchandise, Planning, Marketing, and Allocations Teams.
  • Responsible for assortment plans by gender, category, and classification.
  • Analyze store and web selling, directing to ensure optimal product assortment and placement on the website to achieve online sales goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES-

  • Lead top-quality team of Merchandising professionals and develop their skills/contributions to company performance.
  • Work side-by-side with product development team to create and maximize product and Marketing strategies.
  • Ability to align with, collaborate and influence cross functional partners and peers.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS-

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and a minimum of 5-10 years of leading footwear buying.
  • Highly organized with an ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities and initiatives.
  • Knowledge, relationships, and passion within the footwear industry.  
  • Strong leadership profile and experience at training and developing a team.
  • Ability to plan, prepare and execute strategic business plans.
  • Ability to develop effective processes and procedure that support business growth.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management, build partnerships and direct teams.
  • Must display a high degree of professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to predict and maximize trends.

The salary range for this position is $120,000- $200,000/year.
