Job Description

Skechers global team comprises a wide array of employees, across many levels, functions and nationalities.  Learning and growing are core to Skechers and the success of the company.  The Director of Learning & Development leads the strategy and development of learning offerings that ensure constant growth in our team’s capabilities, skills and potential to meet and exceed business objectives and results targets.  Along with their team and global talent colleagues, this critical leader builds exceptional curriculum & content that drives a culture of learning and belonging, scalable training processes and ensures outstanding facilitation of onboarding and instruction for global employees resulting in increased retention and employee engagement. This is a proven team leader capable of standing up a team of learning designers, program managers and a demonstrated ability to manage complex global programs. The Director of Leadership Development will drive program effectiveness by measuring and analyzing employee performance and and improving program consistency.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

  • Visionary:  Develops, constructs and refines a wide array of professional learning programs and curriculum that build and elevate employee functional skills, competencies and capability to meet business needs and company goals, both now and in the future.  Draws on data, anecdotes and employee feedback to ensure relevancy and localization of Learning solutions for each client group and employee population.  Drives and implements an organization wide focus on learning to sustain culture and catalyze positive change.  
  • Architect:  Designs and deploys a comprehensive set of training processes, routines and standards across all business functions, channels and divisions to ensure consistent execution of company Learning programs.   
  • Strategist:  Analyzes and elevates the company’s global onboarding processes, including NHO and new position training.  Ensures outstanding facilitation and delivery of these programs to drive retention, job success and company capability.  Implements a culture of learning to sustain culture and catalyze positive change.  
  • Analyst:  Utilizes and leverages a wide array of analytics and data to define, implement and report on metrics that business leaders care about, gaining buy-in for overall Learning mission and deliverables.  Identifies data-points that measure Learning effectiveness, ensuring constant grading and evaluation of overall function to achieve goals and deliver results.  
  • Partner:  Builds exceptional relationships with senior leadership, functional business owners and HR business partners to stay connected with and respond to evolving business requirements and employee learning needs and identify how Learning solutions can deliver positive impact. 
  • Coach:  Leads and mentors a team of Learning professionals, fostering their team’s growth and evolution of skills.  Drives a culture of exceptional collaboration, positivity and influence for their team as they partner with HR and company leaders, managers and employees.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

  • Resourceful, strategic and agile with a bias for action with outstanding execution and follow-through  
  • Builds exceptional relationships, influencing quickly and gaining buy-in
  • Deep expertise in professional training, talent development and adult learning

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience and focus on corporate employee training, learning and development 
  • Previous experience managing performance management process, talent planning and succession activities
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and learning design platforms or programs
  • Deep professional background as a consultant and partner to a wide variety of client groups
