Job Description

With the SouthBay and Skechers heartbeat in mind; SKECHERS Foundation is seeking a Communications & Events Coordinator with strong communications and organizational skills, a systems orientation, and an interest in a role that includes project management and general project support. The ideal candidate will have an enthusiastic attitude, high energy, and an eye for detail, and is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple teams and varied projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS

  • Assist with event planning for small and large fundraising events
  • General office tasks including filing, implementing organizational systems, answering phones, setting meetings
  • Research and seek new sponsors – Corporations, Foundations, Individuals
  • Reach out to partners, agencies, talent for events
  • Generate non-traditional, innovative ideas to extend media, maximize impact, and breakthrough to target audiences
  • Update timelines for events, marketing/print deadlines
  • Provide periodic detailed summaries of project status as well as post event recaps
  • Update spreadsheets and data bases 
  • Provide recommendations for the development of media tactics
  • Effectively communicate integrated campaign messages
  • Assist with content ideas and update all social media platforms (Instagram,Facebook,Twitter, etc.)
  • Draft materials including:  thank you letters, sponsor Letters, Donation Letters
  • Coordinate mailings as needed
  • Process check requests and record

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • Strong proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint/PitchPro, Excel) TEAMs and additional systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in social media and website content
  • Self motivated, ready to learn, and a team player
