Job Description

The Retail Allocator works to maintain a balanced in-store inventory assortment, shipping to weekly sales, sku targets, and capacity. Allocators develop and maintain optimum store inventory levels (capacity reports), ship and monitor new stores, and determine proper inventory mixes to satisfy each store by gender, category, style, and size requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS

  • Work with Buyer to develop and execute initial allocations for each season.
  • Ensure the right balance of product by store within each gender/category.
  • Develop allocation parameters based on sales, store capacity, bulks, seasonality and product life cycles.
  • Manage auto replenishment within published standards and proactively make adjustments based on business needs.  Develop and employ “best practices” methodologies as they are discovered.
  • Analysis – Create and utilize reporting tools to balance store inventory. Identify and communicate missed product opportunities in specific store groupings. Weekly identify top stores/SKUs and underperforming stores/SKUs and take appropriate action to correct inventory deficiencies/overages. Maintain a 90% in-stock rate in basic SKUs. Make recommendations to Planner/Buyer to maximize sales.
  • Bulk management – Review allocation plans with Buyer to ensure that bulks are being distributed in a timely manner. Actively anticipate potential issues and communicate with the Buyer about bulk shortages/overages. Develop and execute a plan to maximize sales when bulk issues arise.
  • Transfers – Responsible for monitoring SKU performance at the store level and recommending transfers or consolidations as needed.  Once recommendations are approved allocator must coordinate timing with ops, execute, and communicate with affected stores.
  • Ensure proper size integrity by store and in bulk based on size selling.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Computer proficient with advanced MS Excel skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years’ allocations experience required.
