Job Description

The Merchandising Planning Analyst - Apparel will be required to review, analyze and report on data from multiple internal and external sources.  They will support the apparel product and sales teams and must be able to communicate the results of their findings and make recommendations to management in the form of easy-to-understand reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS

  • Interacts directly with stakeholders to gather business needs, input and output requirements and evaluate processes and procedures
  • Creates business workflows, timelines, process maps and summaries to document processes, procedures, and possible solutions.
  • Streamline the reporting process by creating smart reports measuring internal and external KPI’s for weekly, monthly, STD, YTD review by senior management.
  • Proactively recommend adjustments to the business based on data driven analysis to senior management.
  • Provide analysis that informs business decisions that drive improved performance of the apparel categories.
  • Create buy plans based on forecasted demand for wholesale, Retail and DTC businesses. Provide recommendations based on analysis to maximize opportunities within the sales channels.
  • Analyze booking reports to identify opportunity and devise seasonal/annual projections by customer and category.
  • Work with product creation and supply chain partners to develop and execute capacity and production plans for key item categories across several factory locations.
  • Partner with merchandising to align seasonal line plan direction with business trends and unrealized opportunities.
  • Create and maintain historical references for all financial data.
  • Performs analyses for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various platforms

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced analytical capability
  • Advanced experience in Excel skills 
  • Advanced written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as MicroStrategy
  • Understanding of Retail processes

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Retail buying/planning experience desirable
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • Equivalent experience is acceptable.
