Job Description

Job Purpose

The Human Resources Generalist will assist the Human Resources Director in providing various administrative support in operational areas of Human Resources. This role will assist with professional HR services such as employee relations, employment engagement, training and supporting the Human Resources Compliance, Safety Compliance, Vendor Relations, and other HR divisions such as Benefits/Payroll/Recruiting team as needed. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within this field. They will also rely on some instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job. Responsible for keeping the Human Resources Director informed of all employee related matters, safety, and compliance concerns.  They must be comfortable in working in a fast pace and deadline driven environment.  They must hold a high level of confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Perform HR functions as necessary:
    • Assist the HR Department in providing instructional training to the corporate employees performing HR processes.
    • Assist with updating Labor and Law Posters for new retail and corporate locations, research in advance any changes to wage and hour laws that will pertain to Minimum Wage changes and Sick Pay Leave Policies.
    • Provide support for succession planning with utilization of LinkedIn Learning
    • Provide updates for Development Plans and Performance Improvement Plans
    • Maintain positive and continuous vendor relationships
    • Assist in the creation/updating of procedure documentation as needed.  Updating & posting policies and procedures as they relate to Human Resources. (Skechers Intranet)
    • Work on staying abreast of all applicable laws, procedures, and pertinent information as it relates to Skechers HR operations.
    • Maintaining all appropriate communication through email and written form to the corporate employees.
    • Perform research, analysis, and/or assist with projects as necessary to ensure HR compliance.
    • Safety requirements:
      • OSHA updates
      • Covid related updates (manuals, procedures, guidelines)
      • Safety Committee (Meetings, CPR courses, First Aid, AED Training)
      • First Aid kit replenishment
      • Address Safety Hazards quickly
      • Earthquake, Tsunami, Workplace Violence Awareness/Training
      • Update all internal Safety Emergency Action Plan
  • Assist with Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, Recruiters and ERM’s as needed.
  • Support data tracking for trainings required for compliance under state mandated Anti-Harassment
  • Provide HR administrative support
  • Perform other general office duties as necessary.
  • Corporate and Community Events Support responsibilities:
    • IMPACT Committee (Internal DE&I initiative)
    • Community Events
    • Assist with employee engagement activities as needed.
      • (i.e., Blood Drives, Massage Days, Consignments tickets, Sample Sales, Toastmasters, Lunch and Learns, Wellness Initiatives, Birthday Celebrations, Years of service and Recognition Program etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BA Degree in related field equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Human Resources environment a must.
  • Bi-lingual a plus
  • PHR certification a plus
  • PIHRA or SHRM member a plus
