Job Description

This is not a remote position this is an on-site position in our Southern California Rancho Belago facility.

Accomplishes software requirements by developing and maintaining applications and databases.

Plans solutions, designs and codes software and coordinates the testing and problem-solving process to ensure that the business standards and project requirements are met.

  • Propose solutions
  • Testing of the proposed solutions on both technical and business compliance
  • Analyze, develop, prepare and implement the most efficient and cost-effective computer solutions
  • Facilitates and advises users on best solutions/practices to reduce to a minimum the manual and repetitive tasks to increase quality, efficiency and productivity
  •  Translates client requirements into technical specifications          
  • Analyzes and performs research on any reported problem
  • Evaluates system specifications to meet business requirements
  • Develops and maintains various applications on the IBMi platform
  • Plans a testing schedule for completing the systems operations
  • Supervises the implementation of new systems and report outcome to management
  • Performs installation of new programs and updates (ex. customized labels according to VAS customers)
  • Develops project feasibility reports         
  • Creates, updates and maintains user documentation: inform users on the new functions and how to use them
  • Shared responsibilities for user support of various systems used in the day to day operations of the warehouse, including, but not limited to, WMS (warehouse management system from Manhattan Associates), KSD (Customs and Export application), EDI systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in IT, Programmer
  • 10+ years of experience in IBM System i (aka: AS/400, Iseries) environment
  • Experience in distribution and logistics is an asset
  • Manhanttan Associates Warehouse Management Systems (or similar)

  • Strong understanding of Integrated Language Environment (ILE) and have expertise in creating DB2 files using appropriate SQL and  DDS queries and views
  • Familiar with inter-application communication via DDE and OLE as well as have proficiency in RPG Free Format, RPG IV, CL DDS and SQL Query/400
  • Expertise in understanding client requirements of business applications, and ensuring delivery of software product within given time constraints
  • Languages known: RPG ILE, RPG IV, SQL, OCL, CLP, PHP, HTML and  relational database development.
  • Data structure, database, FTP, array, data areas
  • Experienced in system administration, system values, PTFs, basic configuration.
  • Expertise in security administrator like user profiles, authorization lists, object authorities.
  • Analyzing the performance of hardware and software interfaces, and assisting to identify alternatives for optimizing the use of computer resources
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Team player and possess excellent verbal as well as written communication skills
  • Material Systems (MHE) Connectivity & Production Automation (PLC – Allen Bradley, ….)

The salary range for this position is $135,000-$165,000/year.
