Job Description

 The Skechers Human Resources team is at the central hub of the entire organization and fuels the company’s success by ensuring a top-notch employee experience.  The Retail HR Business Partner is a true talent generalist.  This critical role serves as a primary business partner to the Skechers Canada Retail Leadership team, influencing and advising their clients across Ontario and Manitoba.  The Retail HRBP has a talent vision and knows how to bring it to life!  Primary Responsibilities will Include: 

  • Consults with assigned Director of Retail, District and Store Managers, providing HR guidance and consultation.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. 
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to District Managers and Store Managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).  Facilitates a climate of career growth and fosters a culture focused on career path, especially for our internal team.  
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Ensures the safety of our employees with the right work safety programs and guidelines.  Monitors and manages work safety concerns, including workers compensation claims.  
  • Monitors training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training are completed.
  • Assists Benefits Team with Leave Management and active Leave Cases.  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Demonstrated expertise with multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and Canadian employment laws.
  • Experience supporting a network Canadian retail stores in a remote Retail HR role highly preferred.  
  • Travel Required
