Job Description

The International sample manager is responsible for managing team of sample coordinators, the order placement, calendar management, factory communications in regards to samples only, tracking and distribution of samples within all divisions for sales/buy meetings, tradeshows and conferences globally, and maintain sample library at corporate.

Essential Job Results

  • Fulfill all sample requests and provide ETA and tracking information for distributors, subsidiaries and joint ventures in a timely manner
  • Maintain the shoe sample library
  • Maintain an apparel sample library
  • Maintain/Enter sample orders in system
  • Organize the distribution of apparel sample sets to the international showrooms
  • Analyze ETA reports and reach out to factories in Asia for ETA information on a regular basis
  • Require excellent communication skills and organizational skills
  • Ship samples out per customers’ request using a particular shipping courier as well as work with the finance department for invoicing these shipments
  • Work with courier representatives to help/monitor outgoing shipments
  • Organize the return of rare samples when needed
  • Help assist Apparel team with incoming sample orders/requests
  • Coordinate and pack for international conferences, trade shows and photo shoots to insure all samples arrive on time
  • Collaborate/communicate with domestic sample coordinators & factories in regards to samples only
  • Maintain/Manage sample timelines/calendars
  • Manage/Motivate/Train International sample coordinators
  • Manage/Hire temporary sample coordinators when needed
  • Lead the team by setting good examples
  • Understand and react with a high sense of urgency

Job Requirements

  • Must be highly organized, ability to follow instructions, and work independently.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work in a professional manner.
  • Must have proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, provide a high level of attention to detail, and handle multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Must have management experience.
  • Must be able to lift boxes up to 30lbs and carry shoes between buildings

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising/Product development preferred.
  • 3-5 years professional work experience in an office environment or footwear retail experience.
  • +2 years of management experience (team of +4).
  • Production/Manufacturing planning experience preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
