Job Description

The Parking Attendant will be responsible for parking a variety of employee’s vehicles during rush hours in the mornings and early evenings. Parking Attendants must be able to drive vehicles of all sizes and types including standard and manual transmissions. Must follow all DMV safety guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with no driving issues.
  • Must have own car insurance.
  • Greet all guests / employees in a warm, friendly and professional manner, providing a great Skechers experience.
  • Responsible for the parking of vehicles of all sizes carefully, efficiently, and in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures established by management.
  • Direct traffic to keep car flow organized and smooth, while ensuring pedestrians are safe.
  • Make sure all the vehicles in parking lot are kept locked and keys stored safely.
  • Move vehicles and reorganize cars within the lot.
  • Prior to accepting vehicles, Inspect vehicles with owner to detect any damage. Report or take picture of any damages.
  • Transfer vehicle keys and completed shift report to next shift's employee / Security.
  • Inspect parking lot for any debris with specific attention to cleanliness and appearance; complete small cleaning or maintenance tasks including sweeping, wiping down surfaces and equipment, empting trash, picking up trash, and changing light bulbs. Report any maintenance issues to management.
  • Monitor / maintain safety and security of lot.  Inform people loitering to move off property. Contact Security as needed.
  • Work outside in varying weather conditions.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to drive all types and style of vehicles.
  • Report any suspicious activities or security concerns to Skechers Security Officers.
  • Manage and keep out unauthorized vehicles or any personnel loitering in the lot.
  • Must report immediately and take pictures of any damages to vehicles caused by the attendant immediately to Security and management.
  • Excellent oral communication skills with all levels of the organization,
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Organized, able to work in a busy environment where priorities may change.
  • Professional services required.
  • Must be able to work with or without supervision.
  • Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.
  • Full attendance of scheduled hours.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a valid  California driver’s license and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record; with no more than 2 points
  • Must present own vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • 18 years of age and/or older
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday and periodic weekends
  • Attendance is crucial to perform these tasks.
  • Zero tolerance for being under the influence at work

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous similar experience a plus
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • 6 months Customer Service experience
  • 1 year valet experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, communicate and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, policies and procedures, and operating and maintenance instructions. 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 

DRESS CODE

  • Maintains professional appearance:  Be in correct parking uniform, on time, and ready to work when scheduled.
  • Provided uniforms are to be worn at all times; be in good repair, clean and pressed. 
  • Cosmetics should look natural and compliment skin tone.  No extreme colors or styles.
  • Nails are to be clean and neatly trimmed. 
  • A clean shaven face is preferred.  Facial hair is not to be “½ way”.  Sideburns are allowed but must not extend below the earlobes.   Mutton chops and the like are not acceptable.  Tenured employees hired with facial hair, are to be well groomed and trim daily.  Hair is not to extend below the upper lip. 
  • Visible tattoos must be covered and/or approved by the Director

  • Necklaces are to be worn beneath shirt.
  • Piercings in the lobe with a stud is acceptable.  Ear cuffs are not permitted.
  • Body piercings, facial piercings or gauges which are visible to customers are prohibited.
