Job Description

To lead and direct the Distributor planning and sales analyst team. Work cohesively with the merchandising team to develop and execute assortment plans based on historical data which are in line with achieving company sales objectives.  Overseeing all aspects of sales, planning, forecasting, product buys, product sell through, and marketing initiatives.

Essential Job Results

  • Determine areas of sales opportunities to align with annual sales growth.
  • Develop, execute and communicate the strategic merchandise plans and strategies that support the merchandise goals.
  • Work with planners and merchandisers to develop seasonal plans at the style, class, and category level.
  • Manage sales data and inventory at the sku level for all distributors.
  • Continue to evolve current sales data reports resulting in more effective and efficient analysis.   
  • Communicate seasonal merchandise flow strategies that maximize sales.
  • To partner with merchandising to ensure accurate forecasting. Develop a strong relationship between planning and merchandising to develop assortment plans by season and analyze product history and sales trends.
  • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to the business, recommend strategies to correct and achieve sales plans; conduct hindsight analysis to incorporate learning into the current plan.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives to develop processes and systems to support assortment plans, sales analysis and forecasting.
  • To communicate retail results and successes across all cross-functional groups for the purpose of expansion of sale opportunities.
  • Participate in weekly international conference calls with merchandise and planning team.
  • To coach and counsel the team on a regular basis. Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on performance.

Job Requirements

  • Expert level of knowledge in planning processes, analytics tools and managing a planning organization.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management including supply-demand, inventory, purchasing and delivery plans.
  • Excellent computer skills:   Excel, Smartview, Tableau.
  • Pro-active in anticipating, troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, but also the ability to make a qualitative assessment of past performances, current issues and expected trends at the retail level.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and shift between various tasks quickly
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Weekly conference calls in the morning and early evening depending on time zones, need to be flexible.
  • Global Sales Conference twice a year in our showrooms which includes working through the weekends and attending evening events/dinners.

Education and Experience

  • 10 years + of retail planning and merchandising experience
  • Leadership and Manager experience
  • Footwear planning experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree
