Job Description

The Key Account Analyst position focuses on four key strategic areas that will result in building the best customer experience while developing the brand’s presence at an account.

  • Business Planning and Analysis
  • Merchandising/Marketing

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS

  • Business Planning and Analysis
    • OTB:  After the merchant has determined the OTB/ Sales plan, the SKX analyst will help manage annual open to buy (OTB) to include sales, receipts and ending inventory. This will be done in conjunction with the SKX account sales manager.
    • Business Recap/Review: Weekly recaps will not only focus on revenue growth but more importantly the inputs that will help sustain long term growth: Selection growth, Price Competitiveness, and Out of Stock Rates.   Recaps will also identify wins and opportunities and any action items on immediate priorities and projects.  Weekly (phone call) appointments with the buyer, planner, and account rep should be scheduled to sync and align on priorities and action items," as needed appointments/calls vs weekly.
    •  Inventory Planning/Forecast Review:  Lead monthly planning calls with the department’s planner to review updated forecasts and operational metrics.  Discuss and align on actions to close gaps between projected and actual forecast.
    •  Reporting/Analysis:  The analyst will leverage Skechers data, insights and learnings to guide the business and seek out new opportunities.  Perform ad hoc analysis as needed/requested.
    • Strategic Projects:  As opportunities arise, the analyst will partner with the merchants to develop long-term strategic projects and initiatives for the Skechers’ business.
  • Marketing/Merchandising:
    • Marketing plans:  The analyst, along with Skechers management, will lay out a comprehensive annual/seasonal marketing strategy to drive traffic, build brand awareness and acquire new customers for the brand resulting in long term growth.
    • Partner with the DSW marketing team to plan and build custom brand store destination.
    • Coordinate and create launch plans for new product. 
    • Managing web site placements and promotions to coordinate with the vendor’s event calendar.
    • SVS Marketing Package:  Execute as agreed upon and optimize performance as needed.
  • Inventory Management:
    • SKU level forecasts: Provide annual/semi-annual/quarterly forecasts for core carryover SKUs.  Manage and share in-season forecast updates per defined schedule with vendor. 
    • Fast Track:  Advocate for comprehensive selection and optimize fill rates to reduce out-Add important missing selection to help customers find and discover the products that they are looking for.
    • Improve inventory turn:  Focus on optimizing inventory flow while delivering strong results through reorders, cancellations, forecast adjustments, promotional buys, and off price buys.
    • Manage product life cycle:  Be aware of and maximize product life cycle (ordering cycles, last chance reorders, off price buys, and web assortment updates).
    • New seasonal buys:  Based on selling performance analysis and OTB, execute new seasonal buys per market schedule.
  • Operational Efficiency:
    • Identify operational improvements:  create roadmap/process improvements to reduce operational costs and time.
    • Educate operational guidelines:  engage with appropriate internal and external Skechers/DSW teams to ensure knowledge is shared to minimize chargebacks and develop a strong working process.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Point person for all travel needs and appointments at all buy meetings and trade shows including prep reports.
  • Weekly and monthly recaps of sales results sent to management.
  • Weekly analysis of sales verses plan or LY.
