Job Description

The Retail Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for implementing HR Policies and Procedures for the Retail Division across European locations, and will provide support to Regional HR & Retail Management on staffing plans, compensation, training and development, and employee relations. The Retail HRBP will effectively implement Human Resources related initiatives that support organizational strategic goals, while promoting a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance with Company objectives. The Retail HRBP will support the Regional HR & Retail Management team with performance management and talent assessment as appropriate.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop, organize and facilitate Human Resources best practices and programs to meet the strategic business needs of Retail Operations in South Europe.

- Implementation employee orientation, Relations and training programs. 

- Ensure compliance with European and local laws and ensure all markets are current and compliant with existing and new legislation.

- Provide guidance and education to Retail Regional Management on legal implications of Human Resources issues related to recruitment, contracts, working practices, discipline, employee grievances and morale.

- Educate Regional Retail Management on policies and best practices across all aspects of people management.

- Ensure Job Descriptions for all positions are accurate and current.

- Provide guidance to the European Retail Operations Team to resolve employee dissatisfaction by evaluating and offering possible courses of action and direction for resolution. 

- Work with the Regional Retail & HR team to ensure consistency in Company practices.

- Work with the Regional Retail Team to ensure effective recruiting strategies are in place and provide input on assessment of internal candidates. 

- Work with Regional Retail Team to improve turnover and increase retention through analysis of turnover data and feedback received from exit interviews and employee surveys. 

- Provide support on policy interpretation and other employee relations matters, including but not limited to performance management and internal administrative investigations. 

- Recognize compliance issues and advise on solutions/best practices to address issues. 

- Establish training on safety at the stores in line with local legal requirements.

- Review and evaluate termination, corrective action, and performance management processes, exercising care that reasons are well documented and are not arbitrary or discriminatory.

- Monitor and review compensation and benefits guidelines and exceptions.

- Manage various projects as assigned.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Multi-task in a high-energy fast paced work environment.
• Maintains manager and employee confidence and protects reputations and corporate integrity by keeping information confidential.
• Ability to travel to all required locations within & outside the designated region.

PROFILE

• Must have previous recruiting/ employee relations experience with working knowledge of employment laws and regulations in various European countries.
• Must have ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with managers and other levels of personnel.
• Must be computer literate, with knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet, and email applications.
• Must be able to operate standard office equipment.
• Ability to read, understand and execute human resources related reports, policies and initiatives.
• Coach and train managers on a variety of topics.
• Ability to maintain effective and productive working relationships within all store locations and other field and corporate departments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to create detailed and complex employee communication with minimal supervision. 
• Must be willing to travel as dictated by business necessity. 
• Direct experience in the retail, multi-store/chain environment. 
• HR experience in multi European locations.
• Professional Human Resources qualification an advantage.
• Flexible work schedule including occasional nights and weekends.
• Fluent English/German/Italian essential. Additional European languages a significant plus.
