JOB PURPOSE

Skechers is looking for an experienced Front-End Web Developer with a background in computer science and a desire to do full-stack web application development. This engineer will be responsible for the production, modification, and maintenance of our main site and our internal business tools. They will use their knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create user friendly and effective interfaces to support and enhance the experience of our current and potential customers. They will be a key contributor in our efforts to re-architect our ecommerce platform in ReactJS and they will have opportunities to explore bleeding edge web technologies to further our technical roadmap. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS 

•    Work closely with UI/UX and development teams to further develop brand and drive look and feel of website
•    Ensure website is optimized and adheres to relevant usability standards and compliance requirements
•    Manage plugins and/or tools to optimize performance and track metrics (i.e. Google Analytics)
•    Create and maintain documentation on application design standards, processes, and code changes
•    Support existing applications by tracking and fixing bugs and creating performance improvements
•    Ensure integrity and robustness of code by writing necessary unit, integration, and end-to-end tests where applicable
•    Collaborate with team to architect new architecture of website in ReactJS
•    Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability

•    Communicate with customer service or related department to quickly identify and address any potential issues on the live site if needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

•    Extensive knowledge of the JavaScript language including ES6+ features and JSX syntax extensions
•    Knowledge and experience with ecommerce or 3rd party hosted solutions and the ability to design, manage, and maintain them
•    Knowledge and experience creating responsive cross-browser compatible web pages with rich content
•    Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
•    Proven ability to work in a rapid release production environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

•    2-4 years experience in web development or related field using HTML, CSS, JavaScript
•    2+ years experience using a modern JavaScript framework (React, Angular, Backbone, Ember, etc.)
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
