The Skechers Human Resources team is at the central hub of the entire organization and supports the company’s success by providing guidance throughout one’s career at Skechers.   The Data Entry Specialist / Payroll ensures fast, accurate entry of payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees. This data consists of, but is not limited to entering new hires, direct deposit accounts, updating W-4 information, processing terminations, processing paycards and status changes and running various audit reports into our ADP Enterprise (EV5) payroll system and Kronos time-keeping system. The Data Entry Specialist / Payroll will also provide excellent customer service by responding to employees inquiries.

Essential Job Results

The Fundamentals:

  • Accuracy: Input payroll records for all employees using computerize systems, supports 400 plus multi-state locations into Kronos time keeping system and ADP. Make any required changes to employee information such as change of address, withholding or regular deductions
  • Partner: Field inquiries with all levels of management and employees pertaining to status change forms for employees, including rate changes, store transfers, positions changes and other payroll related items. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner. 
  • System Expertise: Utilize web-based document archiving system to verify requested information
  • Investigates: Make any required changes to employee information such as change of address, withholding or regular deductions
  • Liaison:  Provide information to employee regarding direct deposit and registering for ADP  iPay

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Process manual checks and/or paycards for terminations based on state law time requirements. 
  • Responsible for balancing, reviewing, and auditing bi-weekly payroll
  • Sort, mailing and distribution of retail payroll checks
  • Collaborate with and support other payroll associates as necessary
  • Comply with all state and federal employment regulations i.e. E-Verify, I-9

JOB REQUIREMENTS
•    Data Entry Skills: 6,000 key strokes per hour.
•    Ten Key by touch.
•    Supporting data entry for 8,000 plus employees.
•    Maintains attention to detail while completing multiple or repetitive tasks.
•    Demonstrates a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals and deadlines.
•    Can be trusted with extremely confidential and sensitive information.
•    Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•    High school graduate or equivalent.
•    2-5 years of experience high volume data entry 
•    ADP Enterprise, Kronos Time Keeper or other Payroll system experience a plus
•    Microsoft Office Suite
